This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Junior Girl Scout Troop 55127 in the Deer Lakes School District in recognition of their attainment of the prestigious Girl Scout Bronze Award, the Girl Scout Junior most distinguished honor. This award recognizes girls in 4th and 5th grades who demonstrate extraordinary leadership through sustainable and measurable “Take Action” projects that address important community needs. For their Bronze Award project, the troop planted a vegetable garden on the grounds of East Union Presbyterian Church in West Deer Township. The fresh produce will help stock the West Deer Food Bank which serves about 40 families twice a month. The farm-to-food bank program was made possible with the support of local businesses along with the girl scouts fundraising activities. The members of Junior Girl Scout Troop 55127 has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. Troop 55127 serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
