This Certificate of Recognition is presented to the campers and counselors participating in Breathe Pennsylvania’s Camp Huff-n-Puff, August 13-16, 2015 at the Jumonville Camp and Conference Center in Hopwood, Pennsylvania. For over 30 years, Camp Huff-n-Puff has allowed children with asthma to participate in a special four-day overnight camping adventure. Designed for children between the ages of 8 and 13, campers participate in educational sessions covering self-management of their asthma. A staff of medical doctors, nurses, respiratory therapists and volunteers, including counselors with asthma, are on hand to ensure that campers enjoy a safe, educational and fun experience. By learning the skills to properly manage their asthma and experiencing a positive peer environment, Camp Huff-n-Puff provides a learning experience for children with asthma that combines recreational activities with valuable training to improve their quality of life long after camp is over. Breathe Pennsylvania is dedicated to equipping residents of southwestern Pennsylvania with the knowledge and tools they need to become advocates for their own lung health.
