Proclamation welcoming the 62nd National Fraternal Order of Police Conference and Exposition to the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, August 9-13, 2015 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, and congratulating the National Fraternal Order of Police upon the occasion of its 100th anniversary.

 

Body

 

WHEREAS, the National Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) will hold its 62nd National Conference and Exposition at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from August 9-13, 2015; and

 

WHEREAS, hosted by the Pennsylvania State Lodge, the event represents 100 years of professional law enforcement experience for the largest and oldest law enforcement labor organization in the United States; and

 

WHEREAS, the National Fraternal Order of Police holds a National Conference every two years to set the goals and agenda for the organization.  This year, 140 exhibitors from around the country will showcase their products and services and 4,000 FOP members from all ranks of professional law enforcement and their guests are expected to attend the National Conference and Expo; and 

 

WHEREAS, the National Fraternal Order of Police is the world’s largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers, with more than 325,000 members in more than 2,100 lodges.  The FOP is dedicated to improving the working conditions of law enforcement officers and the safety of those they serve through education, legislation, information, community involvement and employee representation;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby welcome the 62nd National Conference and Exposition to the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, and we congratulate the National Fraternal Order of Police upon the momentous occasion of its 100th Anniversary.
