This Certificate of Achievement is presented to Shaler Area High School senior David Berdik for earning 1st Place in the Desktop Application Programming category at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) 2015 National Leadership Conference held in Chicago, Illinois from June 29th to July 2nd. In May, in Hershey, Pennsylvania, David qualified for nationals after placing 2nd in the State Leadership Conference, for the desktop application he created and programmed. The interface and database he created allows employees of a fictional animal shelter to input information about incoming animals and print reports based on the information. David utilized the constructive criticism made by the judges at the state conference to improve his program. Then he tested the program on different computers and operating systems to ensure it would work as it was created to do. David competed against 34 students from 12 different states in his category at the national competition. Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate David Berdik for winning 1st Place in the FBLA 2015 National Leadership Conference in the Desktop Application Programming category. David has set a positive example of excellence for all of Allegheny County, continuing evidence that this is the County of Champions.
