Proclamation congratulating Executive Director of the Allegheny League of Municipalities, Mr. Richard M. Hadley upon the occasion of his retirement and thanking him for his 20 years of dedicated public service.

WHEREAS, local governments are responsive, innovative, and effective because of the outstanding work of public servants, skilled in public administration, such as The Honorable Richard M. Hadley; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hadley began his public service career over 20 years ago as a Supervisor for Cranberry Township, Butler County. First appointed to fill a vacancy, because of his leadership, confidence and community presence he was elected to the position three times; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hadley held a variety of management and executive positions before joining Reserve Township, Allegheny County as its Township Manager in 2002, ensuring the efficient daily operations of the township. Mr. Hadley was selected to serve as the Executive Director of the Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM) in January 2011. During his tenure with ALOM, Mr. Hadley worked tirelessly to promote cooperation, coordination and education among members; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Hadley has faithfully served the community by lending his time and expertise to various agencies, including the State Association of Township Supervisors, the North Hills Council of Governments, Municipal Risk Management Property & Liability, Municipal Sewer and Water Authority, Municipal Police Officers’ Education & Training Commission, the North Allegheny Tax Collection Committee, 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania and the Miracle League of Southwestern Pennsylvania;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council hereby congratulates Richard M. Hadley upon the occasion of his retirement and thanks him for his 20 years of dedication to enhancing the quality of life for the citizens of countless communities, and we wish him health and happiness in all of his future endeavors.
