This Certificate of Recognition is presented to St. Paul A.M.E. Church of McKeesport upon the monumental occasion of the church’s 150th anniversary. St. Paul is the first African-American church located in the City of McKeesport. The anniversary gave special recognition to the spiritual legacy of the church, with the Presiding Elder of the District, Rev. Dr. James H. McLemore serving as the keynote speaker.  The Reverend Dr. John K. Newby of St. Paul A.M.E. is the highly regarded and beloved pastor. E. Alfreda Stoney introduced the Mistress of Ceremonies, Mae Etta Grimball.  The welcome address was presented by James T. Downes and musical selections were offered by Lorraine Queen.  Inez Jefferson presented a history of St. Paul A.M.E., and other senior members, including Georgia Manns, gave remarks.  Henry Walker III presented observations from the oldest member of the church, Samuel Thomas.  Decorations were handled by Joyce Keith and Garson McClurkin was the musician for the celebration.  The committee members included Frank Francis, Sara Lane, Danita Francis, Lacine Still, Joyce Keith, Stephen Collins, Samuella Peters, Inez Jefferson and Mae Etta Grimball.  We congratulate St. Paul A.M.E. Church upon the momentous occasion of its 150th Anniversary, and we wish the congregation all the best.
