Proclamation thanking the Allegheny County Association of School Retirees, along with the Pittsburgh Association of School Retirees, for hosting the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees 52nd Annual Convention at the Sheraton Pittsburgh at Station Square Hotel, October 4-7, 2015.

WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) will hold its 52nd Annual Convention at the Sheraton Pittsburgh at Station Square Hotel from October 4-7, 2015; and
WHEREAS, this year, the Allegheny County Association of School Retirees (ACASR) and the Pittsburgh Association of School Retirees (PghASR) Chapters, which make up Region 12, will serve as hosts of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees annual convention; and
WHEREAS, the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees is an independent, voluntary organization comprised of former employees of Pennsylvania public schools, including teachers, administrators, counselors, nurses, secretaries, aides, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and maintenance staff, all of whom work to serve the needs of all school retirees of the Commonwealth; and
WHEREAS, Region 12 (Allegheny and Pittsburgh Chapters) expects to welcome approximately 700 individuals to the City and County of Champions; and
WHEREAS, the convention will feature a welcome celebration, a banquet, personal enrichment seminars, guest speakers, special activities and a variety of local tours showcasing our vibrant community;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council does hereby welcome the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees (PASR) to the City of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, and we thank the Allegheny County Association of School Retirees (ACASR), along with the Pittsburgh Association of School Retirees (PghASR), for planning and hosting the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees 52nd Annual Convention.
