Proclamation congratulating the Churchill Volunteer Fire Company upon the occasion of its 75th anniversary.

WHEREAS, founded in 1940, the Churchill Volunteer Fire Company is an all-volunteer organization comprised of approximately 25 members serving the Borough of Churchill and responding to mutual aid calls in the neighboring communities of Forest Hills, Wilkins Township, Chalfant and Braddock Hills; and
WHEREAS, the Churchill Volunteer Fire Company houses four-firefighting vehicles, including a Rescue Truck, Fire Engine, Squad Truck and Command Truck; and
WHEREAS, members of the company perform various community service activities, such as Fire Prevention talks at churches and schools in Churchill; Santa and Easter Bunny visits to the Borough; traffic control at the annual Race for Pace; and the Blackridge Halloween and 4th of July parades; and
WHEREAS, the Churchill Volunteer Fire Company is one of the greatest community assets of Churchill. The citizenry of Allegheny County thanks the Company for its dedication and unparalleled level of service and professionalism;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the Churchill Volunteer Fire Company upon the momentous occasion of its 75th anniversary. We recognize and commend the Company for their unwavering dedication to safety and rescue, and we thank them for the watchful protection and service they provide to the residents of Churchill.
