This Certificate of Recognition is presented to Mr. and Mrs. Ralph and Mathilda Benson of White Oak upon the monumental occasion of their 70th wedding anniversary. The former Mathilda Bendl and Benson were married on September 19, 1945 at Holy Family Church in Latrobe by the Rev. Thomas O’Connor. An Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving as a major and navigator, Ralph is a former machinist at U.S. Steel’s Irvin plant, a machine shop teacher at McKeesport Vocational School, lecturer at the University of Pittsburgh, and vocational services supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Mathilda is a retired lieutenant with the Navy Nurse Corps and a former registered nurse at McKeesport Hospital. They are the proud parents of Ralph, Lewis, Joseph, and John, and the grandparents of 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. We are pleased to recognize the couple’s impressive dedication to each other over so many years; only two people who are truly meant for one another can spend their lives together. We congratulate Ralph and Mathilda on this great milestone and wish them much happiness in the future.
