Proclamation congratulating Pastor Dr. Jack C. Stepp upon the occasion of his retirement after 25 years of dedicated service to the South Hills Assembly of God.

WHEREAS, Pastor Dr. Jack C. Stepp was born in Miami, Florida and was raised near Chicago, Illinois. He was called into ministry at seven years of age, was confirmed in a special anointing at thirteen, and at fifteen, he began preaching at youth rallies and special services; and
WHEREAS, Pastor Stepp graduated from Olivet Nazarene University where he served as President of Spiritual Outreach and as Student Body President. He earned his master’s degree at the top of his seminary class, and then earned a doctorate from the Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; and
WHEREAS, while in seminary Pastor Stepp served for several years as Youth and Children’s Pastor in a Kansas City church, and then as Senior Pastor in a Detroit church for 6 years where he became District Youth President, Director of Youth Ministries, and served on the denominational Youth Ministries Executive Council. Pastor Stepp became a Pentecostal Christian in 1982 and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he served as a staff pastor at the City of Faith Hospital. In 1990, Dr. Stepp became the Lead Pastor at the South Hills Assembly of God Church in Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, after serving several years as Lead Pastor of the Word of Life Fellowship in Steubenville, Ohio; and
WHEREAS, under Pastor Stepp’s leadership, the South Hills Assembly congregation, ministries and church campus have grown, the church has mothered several other churches in whole or in part, many young people have gone into the ministry, and the church has supported missions around the world;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate Pastor Dr. Jack C. Stepp on the occasion of his retirement after 25 years of dedication to serving the congregation of the South Hills Assembly of God, and we wish him health and happin...
