Proclamation congratulating #1 Cochran on the momentous occasion of their 50th anniversary.

 

Body...

 

WHEREAS, in 1965, Bob Cochran opened a single, small Pontiac dealership in North Braddock; and

 

WHEREAS, in the fifty years since, #1 Cochran has grown to become the largest auto retailer in Western Pennsylvania by bringing the world’s most popular automotive brands to customers in Monroeville and Robinson Township, as well as Allegheny Valley, South Hills, North Hills and Butler County; and

 

WHEREAS, under the guidance of Bob’s son, current President and CEO Rob Cochran, #1 Cochran has become one of the top private dealer groups in the nation with 23 new-vehicle franchises, 16 domestic and imported brands, and nearly 1,000 dedicated team members spread across its sales, service and collision repair operations; and

 

WHEREAS, on August 20, 2015, #1 Cochran celebrated their 50th anniversary at Braddock’s Battlefield History Center, the same building that once housed the original #1 Cochran Pontiac showroom, and the festivities included a $50,000 donation toward the revitalization of the Braddock area;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate #1 Cochran on this exciting 50th anniversary, thank the company for giving back to the community, and wish #1 Cochran many more successful years in the future.
