Proclamation congratulating and thanking Eyetique for opening its new corporate headquarters in Beechview.

WHEREAS, Eyetique, an independently-owned chain of fashion eyewear stores, was founded by Norman Childs in 1979; and
WHEREAS, from a single store in Squirrel Hill, Eyetique has grown to employ more than 100 people at 21 locations in Pennsylvania and Ohio; and
WHEREAS, Eyetique purchased and renovated the former Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania, a 10,740-square-foot building located at 1201 Banksville Road in Beechview to house its new corporate offices, employee training center, laboratory and distribution facilities; and
WHEREAS, by bringing all aspects of the business under one roof, Eyetique’s operational efficiencies and customer service will be greatly enhanced;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate and thank Eyetique for opening its new corporate headquarters in Beechview and for contributing to Allegheny County’s economic growth and prosperity.
