Proclamation recognizing the Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh and declaring Tuesday, October 27, 2015 to be “Top 10 Preservation Opportunities Day” in Allegheny County.

 

Body...

 

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh, a city with a rich history of architecture, innovation, and industry, continues to connect young people to the individuals, events, and ideas that shape our lives today; and

 

WHEREAS, the Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh is committed to the participation of young people in the preservation of historic resources that emphasize three central work concepts: innovation, quality, and diversity; and

 

WHEREAS, the Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh educates, trains, and inspires a new generation to appreciate their history to pursue community improvement endeavors by being an active part of the preservation of historic sites; and

 

WHEREAS, the Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh makes a difference in the lives of young people by providing them with the skills, experience, and confidence to shape a better future in their neighborhoods; and

 

WHEREAS, on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, the Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh will gather at the Union Project to announce the top ten preservation opportunities in the Pittsburgh area;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize the important work of “giving life to history®” by the Young Preservationists Association of Pittsburgh, and we declare Tuesday, October 27, 2015 to be “Top 10 Preservation Opportunities Day” in Allegheny County.
