WHEREAS, Anissa Clay, of Findlay Township, sophomore and voice major at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School, has won the 2015 Pittsburgh Emerging Author Award from The Authors’ Zone (TAZ) with her first published book, a novel entitled “The God Conception;” and
WHEREAS, Anissa is one of three finalists in the 2015 TAZ young adult fiction category and will be honored with the Emerging Author Award at the TAZ Awards Ceremony on October 22, 2015 at the Rivers Club in downtown Pittsburgh; and
WHEREAS, the first book in a planned trilogy, “The God Conception” was published by Red Engine Press of Bridgeville, Pennsylvania with a release date of August 15, 2015. The book’s main character, a teenager named Delilah Danton, gains the ability to see events in her future after undergoing an experimental procedure. The novel follows Delilah’s life as she learns to deal with this new gift all the while living with the knowledge of the struggles, losses, and triumphs that are to come; and
WHEREAS, a highly motivated individual, Anissa has almost finished the second book in the trilogy, and is currently recording four original songs for a CD to accompany the next book release;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate Anissa Clay for winning the 2015 Pittsburgh Emerging Author Award, and we recognize Anissa’s exceptional creativity and talent which serves as an inspiration to us all.
