WHEREAS, the “Building Stronger Communities Together” Volunteer Leadership Conference hosted by The Volunteer Administrators of Southwestern Pennsylvania (VASP) and the Westmoreland Association of Volunteer Administrators (WAVA) will take place on Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel in Monroeville, Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the 2015 Volunteer Leadership Conference will feature keynote speaker, Chaz Kellem, Manager of Diversity Initiatives for the Pittsburgh Pirates, and guest speakers Beth Caldwell, Author, Columnist, Founder of Pittsburgh Professional Women, and Denise Lukart, Certified Coach, Teacher and Speaker for the John Maxwell Team; and
WHEREAS, founded on September 30, 1980, the Volunteer Administrators of Southwestern Pennsylvania (VASP) is a professional association for individuals who manage volunteer programs. The agency provides opportunities for professional development, networking and support to enhance the performance of its members; and
WHEREAS, the Volunteer Administrators of Southwestern Pennsylvania (VASP) will celebrate their 35th anniversary at this year’s conference;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize the 2015 Volunteer Leadership Conference, and we congratulate the Volunteer Administrators of Southwestern Pennsylvania (VASP) upon the occasion of its 35th anniversary. FURTHERMORE, this Council thanks VASP for promoting volunteerism and supporting professionals in the field of volunteer management.
