Proclamation declaring Wednesday, November 4, 2015 to be “Love the Coopers Day” in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, Pittsburgh and Allegheny County are proud to be showcased in many notable films and television series broadcast throughout the nation and the world. The film industry in our region bolsters our economy and provides unique views and visions of our regional assets, land, bridges, and rivers; and

 

WHEREAS, the romantic comedy Love the Coopers was filmed on location in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, highlighting the beauty of our region while telling the story of the Cooper clan, the rediscovery of family bonds and the spirit of the holiday; and

 

WHEREAS, Love the Coopers was written by Steven Rogers, directed by Jessie Nelson, and features a sprawling ensemble cast, including Alan Arkin, John Goodman, Ed Helms, Diane Keaton, Jake Lacy, Anthony Mackie, Amanda Seyfried, June Squibb, Marisa Tomei, and Olivia Wilde; and

 

WHEREAS, Love the Coopers holiday music-themed soundtrack, produced by T Bone Burnett, showcases selections from Pittsburgh choral groups, as well as skilled showmanship from the cast; and

 

WHEREAS, Love the Coopers will be released nationally by CBS Films and Lionsgate on  November 13, 2015, and this Council thanks everyone involved in the production of Love the Coopers for their hard work and dedication to making such a high quality film right here in Allegheny County;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize screenwriter Steven Rogers, director Jessie Nelson, producers CBS Films, Groundswell Productions and Imagine Entertainment, and the incredibly talented cast and crew for showcasing Pittsburgh and Allegheny County in this wonderful family film. We hereby declare Wednesday, November 4, 2015 to be “Love the Coopers Day” in Allegheny County.
