Body...

This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to the dedicated sailors, living and deceased, of the USS Caperton upon the occasion of the annual USS Caperton reunion in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania from October 25-27, 2015.  The USS Caperton, a World War II Destroyer DD-650, was commissioned on June 30, 1943, arriving at Pearl Harbor on November 6th.  The battle-tried veteran was known as one of the “fighting-est” destroyers in the Pacific. She was placed out of commission in reserve at Norfolk, Virginia on April 27, 1960.  The crew of the USS Caperton will reunite this year in Pittsburgh to pay tribute to their naval careers and reminisce about their time as shipmates.  We deeply appreciate the sacrifices the U.S. Navy veterans of the USS Caperton have made to keep our great country free, and we honor them for their dedicated and loyal service to the United States of America.
