WHEREAS, the Go Red For Women® campaign is the American Heart Association’s national call to increase awareness about heart disease and to inspire women to take charge of their heart health; and
WHEREAS, for the past 10 years, the Go Red For Women® Fashion Show has been a dynamic event combining fashion and survivor stories to help women learn about living a heart healthy lifestyle; and
WHEREAS, on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the Westin Convention Center Hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, the 2015 Go Red For Women® Fashion Show will showcase the latest in this season’s fashions, offer delectable heart-healthy appetizers, heart-strengthening tips, and a holiday shopping boutique; and
WHEREAS, the Go Red For Women® Fashion Show provides an opportunity for the community to come together to raise awareness, educate and fundraise to build healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the 2015 Go Red For Women® Fashion Show upon the occasion of its 10th anniversary, and we thank the sponsors, organizers and volunteers for raising awareness and advocating for heart disease prevention in Allegheny County.
