Proclamation congratulating the McKeesport Business and Professional Women’s organization upon the occasion of its 85th anniversary.
Body
WHEREAS, the McKeesport Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. was established on November 25, 1930, when forty women signed the charter; and
WHEREAS, the McKeesport Business and Professional Women’s Club was created to promote equality for all women and to help create better conditions for working women; and
WHEREAS, some of the McKeesport BPW’s notable accomplishments include establishing the Visiting Nurses Association, welcoming the presence of the Mon Yough Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center in the city, and every year, providing high school seniors with scholarships; and
WHEREAS, the McKeesport Business and Professional Women have been an integral part of our community for the past 85 years encouraging and promoting the celebration of the achievements of all business and professional women as they contribute to our local economic, civic, and cultural purposes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the McKeesport Business and Professional Women’s Club, Inc. upon the momentous occasion of its 85th Anniversary, and we thank the group for enhancing the quality of life in the City of McKeesport and Allegheny County.
