Motion of hte Council of Allegheny County to approve the Rules of Council to be used as the bylaws for the 2016-2017 Allegheny County Council Term.

WHEREAS, Robert’s Rules of Order provides that an organized society requires certain rules to establish its basic structure and manner of operation, RONR 11th ed., p. 10, ll.9-10; and
WHEREAS, the Rules of Council attached to this motion have been used by this body to establish basic structure and manner of operation for over ten years; and
WHEREAS, Allegheny County Council formally adopted the Rules of Council by motion in the past to govern the body during the current term; and
WHEREAS, it is interest of Council to approve these rules at the beginning of each term to eliminate confusion and provide an official compilation of bylaws to new members of Council;
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
That this Council hereby reauthorizes the Rules of Council as delineated in the Attachment to this Motion.
