This Certificate of Recognition is awarded to the Allegheny County Department of Facilities Management for helping Allegheny County earn the Top Performer Award in the Large Municipal Government category and Top Waste Reducer Award in the 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Green Workplace Challenge. The Department of Facilities Management helped to reduce landfill waste by 62% in the County Office Building and the Allegheny County Health Department Administrative Building. The Green Workplace Challenge is a program of Sustainable Pittsburgh and its business network, Champions for Sustainability. The awards culminated the end of a yearlong, friendly competition for businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, and universities to track and measure improvements in energy, water, waste and transportation. From October 2014 to October 2015, approximately 50 employers throughout southwestern Pennsylvania were active participants in the competition. This Council recognizes the Allegheny County Department of Facilities Management and the team effort that helped our county earn the Top Performer and Top Waste Reducer Awards in the 2014-2015 Pittsburgh Green Workplace Challenge, and we thank you for working together to make our region a better place for all.
