Body...

This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Ms. Tori Ligus of Girl Scout Troop 50146 in recognition of her attainment of the prestigious Silver Award, the second highest award of the Girl Scouts of the USA. Ms. Ligus, in conjunction with fellow scouts Katie Snyder and Hannah Sciulli, completed a leadership project titled “Cats Out of the Bag” which addresses the issue of cat overpopulation in Allegheny County. The scouts, who are seventh-graders at North Hills Middle School, worked with Animal Friends and filmed an educational video about cat overpopulation and coordinated an adoption event at Animal Friends by holding a “kitten shower.” The award recognizes girls who demonstrate, individually or as a group, extraordinary leadership through sustainable and measurable action projects that address important community needs. Throughout her participation in the Girl Scouts, Ms. Tori Ligus has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. She serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
