Proclamation thanking the Honorable Nino Petrocelli, Sr. for his 30 years of dedicated service to Bridgeville Borough.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our neighborhood and the community as a whole; individuals such as The Honorable Nino Petrocelli, Sr. who has placed his stamp of character and hard work throughout the community, as both a public servant and a strong leader; and
WHEREAS, after surviving World War II in the mountains of central Italy, hiding from German soldiers, and watching American bombers pummel German positions in and around Monte Cassino, Nino Petrocelli, Sr., came to Bridgeville, Pennsylvania in 1955 at age 21; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Petrocelli has served on the Bridgeville Borough Council as an elected official for more than 30 years. During his tenure with Bridgeville Borough Council, Mr. Petrocelli has chaired the public safety, the public works, and the finance committees; and
WHEREAS, among his many accomplishments, Mr. Petrocelli developed a road maintenance program for the borough; he saved the borough $400,000 by ensuring they receive credit for their camera work of the sewer system; he helped to secure a $500,000 grant to build a new public library; and he worked to save and restore the Bridgeville World War II Memorial;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby thank The Honorable Nino Petrocelli, Sr. for his dedicated service to Bridgeville Borough and for acting always in the best interests of the constituents of Bridgeville Borough. We wish Mr. Petrocelli and his family all the best in the future.
