This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Thomas G. Burdin upon his induction into the prestigious submariner’s organization, the United States Submarine Veterans, Inc. (USSVI) Holland Club which is named after our nation’s first submarine of the submarine force, the USS Holland (SS-1). Induction into this organization is reserved for only those dedicated members of the silent service who completed the rigorous training program that taught them nearly every system on the boat and, after completing a board of review to demonstrate their knowledge, have been designated as “qualified in submarines” for at least fifty years. We commend Mr. Burdin for his dedication and humbly thank him for his sacrifice and service to our great nation.
