Proclamations congratulating the graduates of the Local Government Academy’s 2015-2016 Newly Elected Officials Course.

WHEREAS, the Local Government Academy Newly Elected Officials Course is available for all newly elected officials in southwestern Pennsylvania every two years immediately after the municipal election; and
WHEREAS, the participants in the 2015-2016 Newly Elected Officials Course have engaged in training on subjects of vital interest to state and municipal governments, as well as all Pennsylvania citizens, such as public safety, municipal finance, planning and zoning, public personnel administration, public works, intergovernmental cooperation, leadership and ethics; and
WHEREAS, the Local Government Academy Newly Elected Officials Course is the most comprehensive course available throughout the Commonwealth for recently elected municipal officials; and
WHEREAS, our community at large supports the organization’s Newly Elected Officials Course as well as the professional and personal development of municipal elected officials of Allegheny County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, commends the 2015-2016 Newly Elected Officials Course graduates. We acknowledge all who participated for recognizing the value of training for local positions in an intergovernmental system, and we look forward to working with these officials in the future.
