This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Jeremy DeLuca and the Mt. Lebanon Percussion Program in recognition of earning the 2015 Scott E. Folmer Memorial Student, Teacher and Exemplary Practice or Partnering (STEPP) District/Partnering Award presented by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) Local Task Force on the Right to Education.  This award recognizes a school, a school based program or school district that has developed an exemplary practice to support the education of children receiving special education services or fostered the partnering of students, parents and professional staff to benefit students receiving special education services.  Mr. DeLuca is an Assistant Director with the Mt. He was nominated for the award by Ms. Lisa Silverman, a parent with a special needs child in the Mt. Lebanon School District. This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Ms. Lisa Rowley in recognition of earning the 2015 Scott E. Folmer Memorial Student, Teacher and Exemplary Practice or Partnering (STEPP) Staff Award presented by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) Local Task Force on the Right to Education.  The award recognizes the outstanding support of children receiving special education services. Ms. Rowley, a physical education teacher at Carlynton Junior-Senior High School, has been instrumental in the success of the peer-to-peer physical education program. The peer to peer program engages students with and without intellectual disabilities in a mentoring liaison or partnership. The program tenders a support system between teens and crafts life-long friendships. Emphasis is placed on developing, improving, and enhancing a student’s physical, emotional, and social fitness. Ms. Rowley’s instruction has promoted social inclusion, tolerance and increased self-esteem. This Council congratulates Ms. Lisa Rowley for earning the 2015 STEPP Staff Award. This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Tanner Cannon in recognition of earning the 2015 Scott E. Folmer Memorial Student, Teacher and Exemplary Practice or Partnering (STEPP) Student Award presented by the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (AIU) Local Task Force on the Right to Education.  The award recognizes the outstanding support of children receiving special education services.  Tanner, a junior at Steel Valley Senior High School, was nominated for the STEPP Award by Principal Lisa Duval.  Tanner knew how much a special education student loved video games, but the student’s family could not afford to purchase a gaming system. Tanner garnered support from his friends and students at the high school and raised enough funds to purchase an Xbox One gaming system, games, accessories and Xbox Live.  During Christmas 2015, Tanner brought joy to the student by providing him with the gift. This Council congratulates Mr. Tanner Cannon for earning the 2015 STEPP Student Award. Tanner serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
