Ordinance of the County of Allegheny granting authority to demolish certain structures in Stowe Township, Deer Lakes Park and Boyce Park.

Whereas, the County of Allegheny owns five (5) structures in Stowe Township identified as: (i) Parcel ID 112-L-48 known as No.1435 High Road McKees Rocks, PA 15136 (Stowe Township) containing One (1) Structure; (ii) Parcel ID 112-K-266 known as No.1447 Stowe Avenue, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 (Stowe Township) containing three (3) structures; (iii) Parcel ID 112-K-257 known as No.1443 Stowe Avenue, McKees Rocks, PA 15136 (Stowe Township) containing One (1) Structure; hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Stowe Township Properties;” and
Whereas, the County of Allegheny owns seven (7) “pit toilets” in Deer Lakes Park and five (5) “pit toilets” in Boyce, hereinafter collectively referred to as the “Park’s Structures”.
Whereas, Section 5-701.06 of the Allegheny County Administrative Code permits the County to raze or demolish any existing building that may be no longer necessary for the carrying out of any of its functions under terms and conditions prescribed and approved by ordinance; and
Whereas, County’s Department of Facilities Management has concluded that the “Stowe Township Properties” and the “Park’s Structures” cannot continue to carry out their original functions and should be demolished due to their deteriorating and unsafe condition.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Grant of Authority to Demolish the “Stowe Township Properties” and the “Parks Structures”.
Authority is hereby granted to demolish or enter into demolition contracts to demolish the “Stowe Township Properties” and the “Park’s Structures” pursuant to terms and conditions and contracts recommended...
