An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the South Park Roller Hockey League (“SPRHL”) to use real property in the County’s South Park.

Whereas, The County of Allegheny is the owner of real property near the intersection Corrigan Drive and Maple Springs Road in the County’s South Park, known as the Roller Hockey Rink; and

Whereas, The SPRHL has contacted the County’s Department of Parks about using the Roller Hockey Rink in the County’s South Park as a venue for Roller Hockey activities coordinated by the SPRHL; and

Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County property; and

Whereas, County Council recognizes the recreational and community service value provided to the County’s residents through the availability of the activities coordinated by the SPRHL and that the activities will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County.

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.

The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.

SECTION 2. Authorization to permit the Use of County Real Property.

County Council does hereby authorize the SPRHL to use real property near the intersection of Corrigan Drive and Maple Springs Road in the County’s South Park, known as the Roller Hockey Rink, as a venue for Roller Hockey activities coordinated by the SPRHL. The appropriate County officers and officials are authorized to take such action as is necessary to carry out the purposes of the authorization granted herein.




SECTION 3. Term of Authorization.

The Authorization set forth in Section 2 above shall commence on February 1, 2016, and shall end on January 31, 2019. However, the authorization is extended for up to two additional...
