This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Matthew L. Price of Boy Scout Troop 2 in recognition of his attainment of the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout, the highest advancement rank in Boy Scouting; less than 2 percent of all male youth are able to earn this rank. Mr. Price has met all necessary requirements in areas of Leadership, Service and Outdoor Skills to advance to the Eagle Scout rank. This Council commends Mr. Price’s diligence and skill: two traits he has displayed throughout his scouting career and his dedication to our community. For his leadership service project, Matthew improved the Panhandle Trail in Collier Township, which is named after the Panhandle Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, the abandoned rail line upon which it is built. He designed and built two signs to help with trail access and to identify the trailhead for the Neville Woods Trail and the Fossil Trail, which intersect with the Panhandle Trail. He also cleaned portions of the trail and led a group of volunteers, which planted hundreds of flower bulbs for beautification. Throughout his participation in the Boy Scouts, Mr. Matthew L. Price has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. He serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
