This Certificate of Achievement is presented to the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 914 “Intrepid” West Mifflin for receiving an “All-State” designation for its support of the VFW mission to help veterans and their families. To achieve this honor, Post 914 successfully completed a broad range of VFW mission projects, such as community service activities, veterans’ services, youth programs, support of military personnel/families, support of public safety and honoring veterans. Post 914 is one of 460 VFW posts in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and has been recognized as one of the best posts in the state. Post 914 visits and engages with hospitalized veterans, participates in fundraising to assist the VFW’s network of service officers and honors past and present veterans. Its community involvement includes organizing Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day ceremonies; supporting the West Mifflin Area Senior High School Air Force JROTC; and funding and awarding the Walt Kuczma Scholarship Program for graduating seniors. Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the VFW Post 914 “Intrepid” West Mifflin for earning “All-State” status for the second straight year, and we thank Post 914 for their support and assistance to veterans and their families.
