Motion of the Council of Allegheny County authorizing the President of Council to conduct public hearings, pursuant to §801.05 of the Administrative Code on Tuesday, October 25, at 5p.m., Wednesday, October 26, at 5 p.m. and Thursday October 27, at 5pm. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. The President shall preside over the hearing or appoint a presiding officer.

One purpose of these hearings is to allow the public opportunity to comment on the proposed operating and capital budgets for the 2017 calendar year before passage. Public testimony is scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on October 25th, 26th and 27th. Individuals wishing to speak must register in advance in accordance with the rules governing public comment at Council meetings. Written testimony will be accepted through Friday, November 4th, 2016.
The other purpose of these hearings is to have departments and agencies funded by the County appear before the Budget & Finance Committee to present their requests and answer questions posed by the members. The final hearing schedule shall be provided to all participants in advance of the hearings and shall also be publicly advertised.
The Members of the Budget & Finance Committee that are committed to attend the hearing include: Council Member Michael J. Finnerty, Chair; Council Member Kress, Council Member Futules and Council Member Means.
Upon passage of this motion, the President is asked to take appropriate steps to provide for security for the public hearings and to provide for transcription of testimony given.
NOW THEREFORE, IT IS MOVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF ALLEGHENY COUNTY,
that the Budget & Finance Committee is hereby authorized to conduct public hearings, pursuant to §801.05 of the Administrative Code on Tuesday, October 25, at 5p.m., Wednesday, October 26, at 5 p.m. and Thursday October 27, at 5pm. in the Gold Room of the Allegheny County Courthouse. All other provisions of this motion shall be appropriately administered.
