Proclamation thanking The Honorable David Mikec for his service as President of the Allegheny County and Western Pennsylvania Association of Township Commissioners.

WHEREAS, The Honorable David J. Mikec was appointed to serve the remainder of his predecessor’s term as the representative of Ward 6 of Ross Township in 2000.  Because of his leadership, confidence and community presence, he was elected in 2001 and re-elected in 2005, 2009 and 2013 by the residents of Ward 6 of Ross Township to serve as their representative; and

 

WHEREAS, Commissioner Mikec is the immediate past President of the Allegheny County and Western Pennsylvania Association of Township Commissioners (ACWPATC) (2014-2015). During his tenure with ACWPATC, Commissioner Mikec served on the Executive Board and organized, planned and hosted the 2014 and 2015 Fall Educational Seminars; and

 

WHEREAS, in his 16 years of public service, Commissioner Mikec has been actively involved in many organizations at the local and state levels of government. He is a board member of the Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM) and an officer of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners (PSATC); and

 

WHEREAS, in June 2015, Commissioner Mikec received the President’s Award from the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Commissioners in recognition of his outstanding service; 

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize and thank The Honorable David J. Mikec for his exemplary service as President of the Allegheny County and Western Pennsylvania Association of Township Commissioners, and to the enhancement of the wellbeing of Allegheny County’s citizens.
