Proclamation congratulating the Ingomar Garden Club upon the occasion of its 70th anniversary.
Body...
WHEREAS, the Ingomar Garden Club was established on February 7, 1946 by seventeen members of Ingomar Women’s Club; and
WHEREAS, the Ingomar Garden Club currently has 61 members who are very active in beautification projects in and around the North Hills; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the club is to stimulate knowledge and appreciation of horticulture; aid in the protection of the natural environment; encourage and promote garden therapy, civic plantings, youth gardening and residential gardening; and
WHEREAS, the Ingomar Garden Club is responsible for such undertakings as the David Council Memorial Park in Franklin Park, Edith’s Garden at Northland Public Library, the entrances at UPMC Passavant, creation of the Central Elementary School Junior Garden Club, and garden therapy for the residents of the Wexford House nursing home;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the Ingomar Garden Club upon the occasion of its 70th Anniversary, we thank the members for beautifying the local landscape, and we wish future success to this treasured community organization.
