Proclamation congratulating St. Clair Country Club upon the occasion of its 100th anniversary.

WHEREAS, St. Clair Country Club, one of Western Pennsylvania’s premier private golf facilities, is celebrating its 100th anniversary; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1916 in Upper St. Clair Township, St. Clair Country Club was formed by a merger of the Castle Shannon Golf Club and the Mt. Lebanon Country Club and was named after the 18th century patriot, Major General Arthur St. Clair; and
WHEREAS, St. Clair Country Club has grown to 265 acres and features an 18-hole championship golf course, a terrace 9-hole course, a state-of-the-art short game practice facility and driving range, a pro shop, a fitness center, massage therapy, paddle tennis courts, a large heated swimming pool and separate children’s pool. The 67,000 square-foot clubhouse is the home of superb member and private dining facilities; and
WHEREAS, in 2003, 2006, and again in 2012, St. Clair Country Club was recognized as one of the top 100 Private Country Clubs in America, thus earning the recognition as one of the Platinum Clubs of America®; and
WHEREAS, St. Clair Country Club has been an important part of our community for a century, and has served as a place of joy and happiness for thousands of families over the years;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate St. Clair Country Club upon the occasion of its 100th Anniversary, and we recognize the staff and members’ dedication to making the St. Clair Country Club a place of distinction since 1916.
