Proclamation congratulating AIReS for winning the 2016 Torch Award in Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County businesses have a strong history of ethics and responsible participation and leadership in our communities; and
WHEREAS, the annual Better Business Bureau (BBB) Torch Awards for Ethics program seeks to inspire all businesses to strive for and maintain high ethical standards in their relationship with all stakeholders and the communities where they do business. The BBB of Western Pennsylvania annually recognizes for-profit businesses within a 28 county region that exemplify and promote ethical conduct; and
WHEREAS, AIReS is a leading provider of customized global relocation solutions for more than 300 clients worldwide. With its corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, AIReS is the winner of a 2016 Torch Award for Ethics in the 100-499 employees’ category; and
WHEREAS, AIReS has demonstrated its commitment to good corporate citizenship as evidenced by their community service, including organizing food drives to benefit the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, making charitable donations to The Mario Lemieux Foundation, the Wounded Warrior Project, CARE and the Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Therapy Development Foundation, organizing a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve “Toys for Tots” campaign, holding “Jeans Day” fundraisers for Save the Children and no-kill animal shelters, a cell phone donation program to benefit abused women in shelters, and November men’s health awareness fundraising activities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate AIReS for winning the 2016 Torch Award for Ethics from the Better Business Bureau of Western Pennsylvania, and we thank the organization’s dedicated employees for its commitment to social responsibility and enhancing the quality of life in Allegheny County.
