WHEREAS, the mission of Coro Pittsburgh is to advance ethical and effective leaders who share a commitment to civic engagement; and
WHEREAS, since 2009, Coro Pittsburgh has presented the Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Awards to recognize individuals and organizations in our region that exemplify values-based leadership; and
WHEREAS, on January 28, 2017 at the DoubleTree Hotel Downtown, Coro Pittsburgh will recognize the following finalists for the MLK, Jr. Leadership Awards:
Distinguished Individual Leadership:
Emmai Alaquiva, Leah Lizarondo, and John M. Wallace, Jr.
Distinguished Coro Alumni Leadership:
Barbara Arroyo, Erin Baker, and James Earl Doyle
Distinguished Organizational Leadership:
412 Food Rescue, Homewood Children’s Village, and Pennsylvania Innocence Project
Distinguished Emerging Leadership:
Hashaam Jamil, Nicole Harrington, and Delante Icarus Murphy;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby thank Coro Pittsburgh and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Award Finalists for their work to improve civic life in the Pittsburgh region.
