Proclamation recognizing North Hills High School senior Monica Snyder for raising funds for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with “An Acoustic Valentine’s with Chris Jamison” at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille on February 12, 2017.

WHEREAS, North Hills High School senior Monica Snyder is one of only nine students from throughout western Pennsylvania selected to participate in The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s inaugural Student of the Year competition; and

 

WHEREAS, Monica and the other eight finalists are competing against one another during the 7-week event to see who can raise the most funds for blood cancer research and take home a $5,000 college scholarship along with being named the 2017 Western Pennsylvania Student of the Year; and

 

WHEREAS, Monica was inspired to join the competition after peers in the North Hills were diagnosed with cancer and are continuing to bravely battle their illnesses; and

 

WHEREAS, on Sunday, February 12, 2017, Monica will be raising funds alongside a North Hills alum superstar during “An Acoustic Valentine’s with Chris Jamison” at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille in Warrendale, Marshall Township. In addition to soulful tunes from Chris Jamison, the event will include raffles, auctions, prizes and other entertainment;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize Monica Snyder for her leadership and dedication to raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and for making a real impact in the fight against blood cancers.
