An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the Oliver Miller Homestead Associates to continue to use a certain portion of the County’s South Park for the operation of the historical property known as the Oliver Miller Homestead.

Whereas, since on or about September 23, 1976, Oliver Miller Homestead Associates, with the permission of the County, have established and developed the original Oliver Miller Homestead stone farmhouse; and

Whereas, the County deems it in the public interest to authorize the Oliver Miller Homestead Associates to continue to operate the historic and architecturally significant Oliver Miller Homestead in South Park; and


Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real estate property.

The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:

SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.

The provisions set forth in the Preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.

SECTION 2. Authorization of the Continued Use of County Real Property.

A. Allegheny County Council hereby approves the continuation of Oliver Miller Homestead Associates’ use of a certain portion of the County’s South Park the operation of the historical property known as the Oliver Miller Homestead. This authorization is through December 31, 2019, with the understanding that the authorization will extend through December 31, 2021, upon the mutual agreement by the County and Oliver Miller Homestead Associates.
B. The appropriate County officers and officials are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the purposes of this Ordinance.
