WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company, Station 232, is celebrating its 80th anniversary on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at The Crown Plaza; and
WHEREAS, the mission of the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company is to promote the safety and protection of life and property endangered by fire and other hazards in the Borough of Pleasant Hills and surrounding communities; and
WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company responds to calls in the borough as well as mutual aid requests to neighboring municipalities in the surrounding communities in the South Hills and Mon Valley, responding to approximately 700 calls annually; and
WHEREAS, the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company operates from one station, located at 72 Clairton Boulevard (Route 51), with two engines, one rescue, one aerial truck, two support vehicles, and one trench rescue and collapse truck;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company upon the occasion of its 80th anniversary, and the citizenry of Allegheny County thanks the Pleasant Hills Volunteer Fire Company for its dedication and unparalleled level of service and professionalism.
