This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Garrett Neill Hoffman, a resident of Bethel Park and member of Boy Scout Troop 4, in recognition of having met all necessary requirements to advance to the Eagle Scout ranking within the Boy Scouts of America. Eagle Scout is the highest Boy Scout rank; only five percent of all Boy Scouts earn this rank. This Council commends Mr. Hoffman’s diligence and skill: two traits he has displayed throughout his scouting career and his dedication to improving the community. For his service project, Garrett recruited volunteers to build a wooden train for the Bethel Park Public Library youth program. He obtained blueprints, scaling them down to size, obtained the necessary materials, cutting, sanding, painting the wood and finally constructing the train engine and caboose. Garrett’s project was funded through a community grant, library donations and supplier discounts/donations. Throughout his participation in the Boy Scouts, Mr. Hoffman has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. He serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.
