Proclamation congratulating the Bon Ami Temple No. 49, Daughters of Elk, 2017 Awardees.

WHEREAS, Allegheny County is blessed with individuals and organizations dedicated to improving our quality of life through many worthy endeavors, especially the Improved Benevolent, Protective Order of Elks of the World, known as Elkdom; when founded in 1898, the fraternal group added a Women’s Auxiliary to help with its many worthwhile activities in 1902; and
WHEREAS, on March 25, 2017, the Bon Ami Temple No. 49, Daughters of Elk, will honor outstanding members for their accomplishments and service to Elkdom and their fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS, the selfless and spirited members chosen for the 2017 awards include Mr. Elk, Brother Joseph Horton, past presiding Exalted Ruler of North Side Lodge #124, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Ms. Elk, Daughter Corliss A. Lewis, past presiding Daughter Ruler of Mosiwidael Temple #38, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for their outstanding service to Elkdom; and
WHEREAS, the selfless and spirited citizen chosen for the 2017 award is being recognized for her accomplishments and service to the community. Ms. Tina Hinton, owner/operator of Platinum Group Services, LLC will receive the Entrepreneur Award;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the Bon Ami Temple No. 49, Daughters of Elk, along with this year’s awardees upon this joyous occasion and offers best wishes for continued growth and success for years to come.
