Proclamation recognizing the 6th Annual Jameson’s Army Green Heart Gala to raise awareness and funds for children and families affected by congenital heart disorders in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, the 6th Annual Jameson’s Army Green Heart Gala, hosted by Bill Crawford from the DVE morning show, will take place on April 7, 2017 at the Lemont Restaurant to raise funds for children and families affected by a congenital heart defect (CHD) in Allegheny County and the region; and
WHEREAS, Jameson’s Army was established in 2012 by Danielle and Patrik McKain in honor of their son, Jameson McKain, who was born with a heart condition known as Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS); and
WHEREAS, Jameson underwent 6 open heart surgeries and received a heart transplant at 11 months old. Today, Jameson is 6 years old and thriving; and
WHEREAS, Jameson’s Army strives to help the families at The Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC (CHP), The Children’s Home, The Lemieux Foundation, and other medical facilities and families touched by CHD in the Pittsburgh area;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Allegheny County Council does hereby recognize the 6th Annual Jameson’s Army Green Heart Gala, and we commend Jameson’s Army for helping children and families affected by congenital heart disorders in Allegheny County and the region.
