Proclamation congratulating the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club upon the occasion of its 100th anniversary.

WHEREAS, on Sunday, March 19, 2017, the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club, located at 3004 Walnut Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania, celebrated its 100th anniversary, along with the commemoration of the 169th anniversary of Hungarian Independence; and
WHEREAS, the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club was established to provide a sense of community to Hungarian immigrants and to preserve the Hungarian cultural traditions; and
WHEREAS, since 1917, the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club has been serving people of Hungarian descent strengthen their heritage in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County; and
WHEREAS, the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club brings people of all ages together to celebrate Hungarian culture, cuisine and dance;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Allegheny County Council does hereby congratulate the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club upon the occasion of its 100th Anniversary, and we thank the McKeesport Hungarian Social Club for keeping the rich culture, traditions and language of Hungary alive in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
