Body...

WHEREAS, the building was named after Killbuck, an important Delaware Indian Chief during the Revolutionary War, who supported the American rebels; and

WHEREAS, Killbuck Lodge has been home of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Troop 248 since 1933; and

WHEREAS, Killbuck Lodge has been a fixture in Oakdale, serving many groups and hosting community functions such as dances, public meetings, festivals and even boxing matches; and

WHEREAS, in 2007, the nonprofit Friends of Killbuck Lodge purchased the building and surrounding property with the intent of revitalizing the 200-year-old log cabin; and

WHEREAS, in addition to being proclaimed a historic site by the Borough of Oakdale in 2015, the reconstruction of the Killbuck Lodge was featured on the television show, Barnwood Builders.
