An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League to use a structure on Center Road, also known as Monroeville Trestle Road, in the County’s Boyce Park.

Whereas, the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League is currently using a
structure on Monroeville Trestle Road, in the County’s Boyce Park, and has done so for many years, to conduct boxing and boxing-related activities; and
Whereas, the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League wishes to continue to use the structure on Monroeville Trestle Road without interruption; and
Whereas, the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League has offered young patrons an opportunity to participate in boxing activities and competition; and
Whereas, County Council believes that permitting Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League to use the designated structure in the County’s Boyce Park for the use for boxing activities will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County; and
Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real property.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Authorization to permit the use of County Real PropertyU.
Allegheny County Council hereby approves the continued use of a structure on Monroeville Trestle Road in the County’s Boyce Park by the Western Pennsylvania Police Athletic League.
The term of this authorization begins on October 1, 2017, and continues through September 30, 2018.
The proper officers of the County are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the authorization granted by this legislation.
