An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing to transfer a portion of McKees Rocks - Steubenville Pike Road, at Connie Park Drive and Clever Road, to Kennedy Township.

Whereas, McKees Rocks - Steubenville Pike Road, County Road No. 6199-01, hereinafter called the “Road”, was enrolled as a County road by the Court of Quarter Sessions at No. 1 December Sessions 1906, approved by Order entered March 23, 1907; and
Whereas, the County relocated approximately 612 feet of the Road to eliminate sharp bends and steep hill at Connie Park Drive and Clever Road, and extended Connie Park Drive, a Township road, approximately 170 feet to intersect with the new location of the Road, as authorized by the Court of Common Pleas No. 1 July Session 1980 with Final Court Order dated July 18, 1981, as depicted on a Road Transfer Plan, marked “Exhibit A” and attached hereto; and
Whereas, Kennedy Township Board of Commissioners, through its Township Manager, has indicated its willingness to accept responsibility for maintaining the Road by its letter dated March 6, 2018; and
Whereas, Allegheny County Council deems the conveyance of the Road, and the extension of Connie Park Drive, to Kennedy Township to be in the public interest; and
Whereas, in accordance with Section 701.02 E of the County Administrative Code, the County Manager has authorized entering into a Road Transfer Agreement with Kennedy Township to transfer the Road, and the extension of Connie Park Drive, by Executive Action No. 5807-18 approved May 9, 2018.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Authorization to Convey a portion of McKees Rocks - Steubenville Pike Road and the extension of Connie Park Drive
