This certificate is presented to Officer Tobias Coleman upon the occasion of taking courageous actions that set a standard of excellence for all Allegheny County Jail employees. On July 24, 2018, while Officer Coleman was at the CoGo’s convenience store in Greenfield, a man entered the building through the back and attacked an employee. Officer Coleman and another customer, Hunter Croft, rushed to assist the employee, and restrained the assailant until police arrived. Without Officer Coleman’s actions, the encounter quickly could have become even more serious, if not deadly.
