Mrs. Elva Bertha of Whitehall, PA was born on September 7, 1918 in Pittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Bertha graduated nursing school at St. Francis Hospital in 1939 and signed up as an Army nurse in February 1942. Upon returning home, Mrs. Bertha married her childhood sweetheart Paul, and together they had five children, six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bertha was a dedicated nurse, wife and mother. We honor and commend Mrs. Elva Bertha for her service and longevity, and we wish her the best as she celebrates her 100th birthday.
