Proclamation congratulating McCandless Township Manager, Tobias Cordek for 35 years of service and dedication to his community.

WHEREAS, “the secret to success is good leadership, and good leadership is all about making the lives of your team members or workers better.” That quote by Tony Dungy depicts the true essence of Mr. Tobias M. Cordek and his years dedicated to McCandless Township as the Manager; and
WHEREAS, hired on January 1, 1984, Mr. Cordek has been with the Township for 35 years and has served his community in a time of growth; and
WHEREAS, as Township Manager, Mr. Cordek continually severed with the interests of the Council Members, employees and residents of McCandless Township at the forefront. He remained dedicated to going above and beyond of what was expected of him as Township Manager; and
WHEREAS, over the years as Manager, Mr. Cordek attended hundreds of meetings of the Township’s Council, a responsibility required to keep Council fully advised of the Township’s conditions and needs; and
WHEREAS, during Mr. Cordek’s time in office, he actively served on several committees such as: the North Hills Council of Governments Administrative Committee; the Storm Water Management Committee; the Association of Pennsylvania Municipal Management Committee; the Municipal Risk Management Loss Committee, the International City and County Management Association, and the Pennsylvania Legislative Task Force on managing and developing potential conditions; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure with the Township, Mr. Cordek saw an increase in home construction, population, and infrastructure;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Cindy Kirk, do hereby congratulate McCandless Township Manager, Tobias Cordek for 35 years of service and dedication to his community, and I wish him continued success in his retirement.
