Proclamation congratulating Allegheny County Boroughs Association as it celebrates 70 years of fostering local government throughout Allegheny County and Southwestern Pennsylvania.

WHEREAS, rooted in the mission of promoting local borough government, the Allegheny County Boroughs Association (ACBA) has been providing information and assistance on problems facing boroughs since January 1949; and
WHEREAS, celebrating its 70th Anniversary this year, the ACBA is dedicated to fostering local government in Allegheny County and Southwestern Pennsylvania by educating local officials, delivering essential resources, and advocating for sound policy and legislation. To meet the needs of its members, throughout the year, ACBA holds regular meetings on matters related to borough government and items of interest to borough officials; and
WHEREAS, under the leadership of a Board of Directors, ACBA is composed of officers, seven directors from each of the Association’s three administrative districts and members of the Association’s several committees. All members of the Board of Directors are volunteer-based and work closely with Allegheny League of Municipality (ALOM) to coordinate efforts for public advocacy, policy, legislation and general operations; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Council Member Sue Means and All Members of Council, do hereby congratulate and join in celebration with Allegheny County Boroughs Association, as it celebrates 70 years of fostering local government throughout Allegheny County and Southwestern Pennsylvania;
